Protect your home and your things, and save when you bundle with auto. I compare several companies at once.
What I can cover
| Type | For |
|---|---|
| Homeowners | Houses you own and live in |
| Condo | Your unit's interior, belongings and liability |
| Renters | Your belongings and liability when you rent |
| Mobile / manufactured home | Manufactured and mobile homes |
| Umbrella | Extra liability above auto and home |
| Motorcycle, boat, RV | Your other vehicles and toys |
What a home policy usually covers
- Dwelling: the structure of your home
- Other structures: fences, sheds, detached garages
- Personal property: furniture, clothes, electronics
- Liability: if someone is hurt on your property
- Loss of use: hotel and meals while your home is repaired
Check your wind and hail deductible. In much of the Southeast it can be a percentage of your home's value, not a flat dollar amount.

Common questions

Does home insurance cover floods?
No. Standard home policies do not cover flood. Flood coverage is a separate policy, and it usually has a 30-day wait before it starts.
Do I need renters insurance?
Many landlords require it, and it is usually low cost. It covers your belongings and your liability if someone is hurt in your home.
Can you insure mobile or manufactured homes?
Often, yes. Foremost is one of the companies I can check for mobile and manufactured homes.
What is an umbrella policy?
Extra liability coverage on top of your auto and home policies, usually starting at $1 million, for bigger lawsuits.
